Meghan Mitzel (she/her)
Meghan has been a student of yoga for over 15 years. She signed up for a yoga course in college, thinking it would be an easy way to earn a few more credits, never guessing that she was actually embarking on what would become a lifelong, transformational journey. Over the years, this practice has helped her navigate anxiety and injury, and has also been a continuous source of joy and strength. She often says that yoga is the thing that keeps both her mind and body working properly. As a full time flight attendant working in a turbulent environment (in both the literal and figurative sense), the hours she spends grounding herself on her mat have become both sacred and simply necessary for her health and sanity!
Meghan enjoys teaching a well-rounded, alignment based class, focused on honoring what the body is able to do that day (every day is different!), in order to build a safe, sustainable yoga practice. She believes that yoga is for everybody and every body, and works to create a welcoming space for students of all ages and abilities. In addition to vinyasa flow, Meghan has a deep love of the slower, more grounded practices, such as yin and restorative. She completed her 200hr yoga teacher training in 2018 at YogaWorks Back Bay with Renee LeBlanc and Caitlyn Visconte, and recently finished her 300hr here at Boston Yoga Union with Tim Kelleher, Emily Jonas Tevald, and Caitlyn Visconte.
Meghan is so grateful to be part of the Boston Yoga Union community. She dedicates her teaching to the memory of her dear friend, Tina Lauria.
