Melissa Mason (she/her)

Melissa began practicing yoga in college simply as a form of exercise that was not running or lifting. She quickly found that it helped manage her depression and quiet her chaotic mind.

More recently she has discovered the use of metaphor in Katonah yoga and hopes to eventually be able to weave that magic into her own teaching. She uses her own practice as a form of self-love and self-exploration, bringing techniques and lessons discovered on her mat into her daily life. Melissa has found joy and balance through her practice and hopes to bring the same sense of relief and stability and wonder to her students.

Melissa focuses on proper alignment and breath work, queuing the breathing to the movement to create a sense of unity within the body and mind. She encourages her students to come onto the mat with an open mind and open heart, leaving any stressors behind. Melissa completed her 200-hour teacher training in March of 2022 with Emily Tevald, Tim Kelleher, and Caitlyn Visconte at Boston Yoga Union.
